Unboxing: Urbane Boutique

Back in December, I had the privilege to attend "The Women's Edit," which was an event hosted by Urbane Boutique in partnership with PRSVR here in Chicago. Urbane Boutique, founded by the lovely, multifaceted entrepreneur Carlisha Hartzog, is a lifestyle brand that focuses on women's ready-to-wear, leather goods, and travel accessories. PRSVR is a lifestyle brand that caters to men, with impeccable urban style. The pairing of these two brands at the PRSVR flagship location was a match made in heaven! There were mimosas, manicures, and massages. And the clothes were to DIE for. I snapchatted the entire night there (are you following me on Snapchat? If not, you're missing out!)

I received a few goodies that I could not wait to do an unboxing post for!

First, how adorable is this packaging? Seriously?!

This canteen and makeup bag were right on time, as I was in need of both LOL.

This glossy, sleek canteen is called a "corkcicle" and it has triple insulation and a vacuum seal! It can hold up to 16 oz. and keeps beverages cold for up to 25 hours, and hot for 12. I just LOVE that so much! I drink a lot of water and a lot of coffee. This will be perfect for both! You can pick this baby up in this gloss pink color, or brushed copper, brushed steel, gloss white, gloss turquoise, or brushed spider red.

The makeup bag is the perfect size and included a few travel goodies. Plus there is a pack of static nails, which I've never used before, but I'm excited to try! Apparently these last for up to 18 days, so I'll report back to let you know how I get along with them.

In addition to these lifestyle items, Urbane has a beautiful arrangement of women's clothing items. I'm currently lusting after this dope trench.

Also, as mentioned PRSVR also has some bomb men's clothing. I've been eyeing this jacket for bae.

Once again, a HUGE thanks to Carlisha and the Urbane Boutique team and PRSVR for hosting us. I'm looking forward to seeing more from these dope brands ♥

Black Radiance Review

A couple of people have commented on how glowy my skin looks  lately, so I just had to share my secret! Recently, I've been wearing makeup products by Black Radiance and I have been LOVING it! As many of you know, I don't wear foundation. I have really sensitive skin and anything that feels heavy or cakey makes me break out in hives. So, when I came across this BB Cream, I knew I had to try it.

I'm wearing the Black Radiance BB Cream in the color 8920: Brown Sugar.

The cream is so light and soft, it feels like it's barely there, but provides a light, tinted coverage. Additionally, I've been using their contour palette and I am just as obsessed with it.

This is the Medium to Dark Palette
This contour palette is perfect for day to night looks. It is buildable, so it can work for night looks. However, I will say that the contour is quite light, so it may not give you that full on red carpet glam. BUT, again it is perfect for day to night looks, in my opinion.

Have you tried any Black Radiance products? Let me know in the comments below!

Spring Beauty for Women of Color

Hi beauties! Welcome back to my blog!

I feel like every post lately has included the phrase "my first ever" which is so very exciting! Unapologetically Pam is rapidly growing and if you scroll through my recent posts, you'll see what I mean.

Today's blog post and video are so very special to me, as it is my first ever beauty collaboration. I have teamed up with several other wonderful bloggers to inspire women of color for spring makeup looks. Melanie, who designed the idea behind this spring beauty collaboration, wanted to encourage women of color to embrace our features and more color during the warmer seasons. We all know that many of us are still fearful of experimenting with different makeup looks. I'm no exception! I stepped out of my comfort zone to try pinks and purples for spring. And it paid off well! Many thanks again to Melanie of Mattes and Metallics for coordinating this collaboration.

Rodan + Fields Review

Recently, I connected with a friend from back home in Arkansas - Joi, an Independent Consultant for Rodan + Fields which is a skin-care line. I've tested out a few of their products and I'm happy to share with you my first product review here on the blog!

When speaking to Joi, you can tell that she's very passionate about Rodan + Fields products. Of the three samples sent to me, I was most intrigued to try the micro-dermabrasion paste. But I'll talk through all three of them!

I was sent the micro-dermabrasion paste, night renewing serum, and lip renewing serum.

The REDEFINE Night Renewing Serum was the first that I tried. After cleansing and toning in the evening, you apply the night renewing serum to your face. It is said to visibly improve skin texture and firmness and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Honestly, this product did not do very much for me although *disclaimer* - most night serums don't do very much for me. I don't have any wrinkles (yet) and very few fine lines, so there was no difference in my face before and after. They did say that if your skin feels dry after applying it, you can finish with a moisturizer, which is what I did. Overall, I wouldn't write off the product, especially if you're considering a night serum, you might want to look into to it!

Th next thing I tried was the lip renewing serum, which was especially timely since my lips have been a bit dry and peeling lately. According to the package, the REDEFINE Lip Renewing Serum smooths lip texture, reduces the appearance of lip wrinkles, and increases moisturization. My lips certainly felt nice and smooth after using this product. However, I will say that the moisturization does wear off, so be sure to apply a lip balm after using to lock in some of that moisture.

The highlight of these samples for me was the ENHANCEMENTS Micro-Dermabrasion Paste. First, I love that you apply the scrub to dry skin. Second, it smells absolutely divine. Third, my skin felt so smooth after trying it! To apply, gently massage the paste onto dry skin in the morning to enhance cell turnover and improve tone and texture. For gentler exfoliation, you can also add water. I chose to apply it dry.

The first time I used the paste, my skin was quite red after, but soft. And, honestly, my skin felt quite relieved. It's one of the best scrubs I've used in a long time. It's not recommended that you use it every day, but using it in place of your daily cleanser up to three times a week could really improve the overall feel of your skin. After testing it for a few days, I must say that I enjoy this product!

And there you have it! My first product review. If you're interested in working with Joi and finding out more about Rodan + Fields, click here. If you've tried the products before, what are your thoughts?

Thanks for reading!

March Favorites

Hello, friends! Happy spring!

Today's post is one I'm super excited about because I've just posted my first ever FAVORITES VIDEO! Eeeeeeek!!

There are some things that have become staples in my life as of late, so I was inspired to make this video and join in on the Favorites trend. Watch the video below:

Here are the links I mentioned in the video, as well.

What have you been loving so far this year? I'd love to know. Leave me a comment or drop me a line on instagram or twitter.

DIY Lip Scrub

Hey, Hi, Hello!

Welcome back Unapologetically Pam!

Okay, so it's winter (at least here in Chicago, brrrrr). It's cold, it's miserable, and you probably are caking on loads of lip balm to combat dry lips. So, today I wanted to share with you guys a super simple, super easy DIY lip scrub you can do in literally minutes with items you most likely already have at home. Adding this into your lip routine once a week or so can really make a difference in the look and feel of those puckers (hehe) no matter what the weather.

Let's get started!

Things you'll need:
Olive Oil
Sugar

Step 1:
The amount is up to you, but just use equal parts. I did about a teaspoon of olive oil and a teaspoon of sugar. Mix it all together on a small plate/bowl/whatev's. Should look something like this:

Step 2:
Apply it to your lips, gently rubbing it in for about 30 seconds (or longer, cause ya know, yolo).

Step 3:
Rinse it off with warm water, and your lips should feel nice and soft. And exfoliated!

Step 4:
Don't forget to moisturize! I'm just using an EOS lip balm cause I love the way it smells!

And, voila! You have soft, kissable lips. And it only takes like 2 minutes to do, seriously. I highly recommend this DIY lip scrub!

*cyber high-fives*
