One of my dearest friends, Martha, is an absolutely beautiful soul with crazy amazing fashion sense to boot! If you watch our vlogs, you know that hanging out with her is always lit. When Martha, DeMico, and I get together we call outselves "The Trio" hahahaha. I loved the shots we got after brunch on this sunny (yet cold) morning in Chicago. Definitely made me feel like we had paparazzi snapping pics (when really it was DeMico lol!)

My outfit for brunch was super casual, as I wanted to feel comfortable whilst also being full of delicious grub.

Seriously, how cute is she?!

Also, here's my love!

And alas, here is the trio. FYI, this is basically the only good picture we got, as we couldn't stop giggling hahahaha.

Thanks for reading you guys!

PS - Ooooh, also have you seen my new spring beauty video? It's my first makuep video and I'd adore it if you watched it. Love you, mean it!

Spring Beauty for Women of Color

Hi beauties! Welcome back to my blog!

I feel like every post lately has included the phrase "my first ever" which is so very exciting! Unapologetically Pam is rapidly growing and if you scroll through my recent posts, you'll see what I mean.

Today's blog post and video are so very special to me, as it is my first ever beauty collaboration. I have teamed up with several other wonderful bloggers to inspire women of color for spring makeup looks. Melanie, who designed the idea behind this spring beauty collaboration, wanted to encourage women of color to embrace our features and more color during the warmer seasons. We all know that many of us are still fearful of experimenting with different makeup looks. I'm no exception! I stepped out of my comfort zone to try pinks and purples for spring. And it paid off well! Many thanks again to Melanie of Mattes and Metallics for coordinating this collaboration.

I've included 4 lip looks for you to consider in my spring beauty video. Check it out below to get inspired for what lip look you'll be rocking this spring!

My First Q&A!

Happy Sunday, blog lovers!

I am so excited about today's post because it's a first here on Unapologetically Pam. A few weeks ago, I posted to my social media accounts (instagram, twitter) as well as some amazing online communities that I have the privilege to be a part of - DivorceForce, Bloggers of Colour, and Black Bloggers United - to see if anyone had some questions they'd like to ask me.

To be honest, I didn't think I'd get any questions, because, ya know you never know. But I did! I got questions on blogging, my education, my favorite films, and divorce/dating. Here they are:

1) How long have you been blogging and why did you start?
2) Blogger or Wordpress?
3) Do you automate your blog posts and social media? And how do you feel about automation overall?
4) When blogging do your stock pics or personal pics grab more readers?

5) What is your Master's Degree in?
6) What is your favorite film?

7) Are you divorced?
8) What is the biggest lesson you've learned from your divorce?
9) How long after my divorce should I wait to start dating again?
10) What is your ideal date?

I'm sooo honored to answer these questions! So, without further ado, here is my first ever Q&A. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for reading/watching!

You know that feeling..
The one you get when you step outside and feel warm sunshine after a harsh winter rain.

Or when your tongue gets that first taste of your favorite ice cream.

Or how about when you've lost something,
And it's replaced by something better.

It's that feeling you get when you've been in the fight for so long
that hope seems like a wasteful, bitter ache...

Yet, you keep scratching forward,
reaching, determined to find that light.

And when you finally step into that beautiful warmth and blinding beauty...
There it is again. You feel it.

Rodan + Fields Review

Recently, I connected with a friend from back home in Arkansas - Joi, an Independent Consultant for Rodan + Fields which is a skin-care line. I've tested out a few of their products and I'm happy to share with you my first product review here on the blog!

When speaking to Joi, you can tell that she's very passionate about Rodan + Fields products. Of the three samples sent to me, I was most intrigued to try the micro-dermabrasion paste. But I'll talk through all three of them!

I was sent the micro-dermabrasion paste, night renewing serum, and lip renewing serum.

The REDEFINE Night Renewing Serum was the first that I tried. After cleansing and toning in the evening, you apply the night renewing serum to your face. It is said to visibly improve skin texture and firmness and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Honestly, this product did not do very much for me although *disclaimer* - most night serums don't do very much for me. I don't have any wrinkles (yet) and very few fine lines, so there was no difference in my face before and after. They did say that if your skin feels dry after applying it, you can finish with a moisturizer, which is what I did. Overall, I wouldn't write off the product, especially if you're considering a night serum, you might want to look into to it!

Th next thing I tried was the lip renewing serum, which was especially timely since my lips have been a bit dry and peeling lately. According to the package, the REDEFINE Lip Renewing Serum smooths lip texture, reduces the appearance of lip wrinkles, and increases moisturization. My lips certainly felt nice and smooth after using this product. However, I will say that the moisturization does wear off, so be sure to apply a lip balm after using to lock in some of that moisture.

The highlight of these samples for me was the ENHANCEMENTS Micro-Dermabrasion Paste. First, I love that you apply the scrub to dry skin. Second, it smells absolutely divine. Third, my skin felt so smooth after trying it! To apply, gently massage the paste onto dry skin in the morning to enhance cell turnover and improve tone and texture. For gentler exfoliation, you can also add water. I chose to apply it dry.

The first time I used the paste, my skin was quite red after, but soft. And, honestly, my skin felt quite relieved. It's one of the best scrubs I've used in a long time. It's not recommended that you use it every day, but using it in place of your daily cleanser up to three times a week could really improve the overall feel of your skin. After testing it for a few days, I must say that I enjoy this product!

And there you have it! My first product review. If you're interested in working with Joi and finding out more about Rodan + Fields, click here. If you've tried the products before, what are your thoughts?

Thanks for reading!

March Favorites

Hello, friends! Happy spring!

Today's post is one I'm super excited about because I've just posted my first ever FAVORITES VIDEO! Eeeeeeek!!

There are some things that have become staples in my life as of late, so I was inspired to make this video and join in on the Favorites trend. Watch the video below:

Here are the links I mentioned in the video, as well.

These are the only one's I could find online, most of the items aren't available in store anymore *sigh* BUT, that only inspires you to go find some treasures of your own right, right? Right :)

What have you been loving so far this year? I'd love to know. Leave me a comment or drop me a line on instagram or twitter.
